New Stampendous Vintage Embossing Powders and Glitter

I am really enjoying playing with all the new 'Frantage' products from Stampendous. There are lovely vintage gold, silver and copper colours and shabby white, pink and blue mixtures as well.
For this card I was inspired by Suzanne Czosek who made the most beautiful card which I found on the Stampendous blog

How to make Paper Rosettes

I have been having fun tonight making some rolled paper roses out of scrap paper, they are so easy to make and look really pretty on a card or a scrapbook layout, I am sure you can think of some other uses, once you are addicted to making them as well!

Start by cutting out a circle...I traced around a  ribbon spool. Try experimenting with different sizes

cut a spiral from the circle...you can draw the spiral first or just cut freehand as it does not need to be perfect, in fact a little unevenness is a good thing

I use a bamboo skewer to roll the spiral up...the inside of the spiral will be the side you see

keep rolling around and around..again it does not have to be perfect or tightly rolled, you are just making the paper take the shape

the inside of the spiral becomes the base of the flower..I let my roll undo a bit,  put a big blob of craft glue on the circle, then shape it onto the base..easy peasy and lots of fun!

now to make something with my pretty flowers :)

My new craft room...part 2..storage solutions

Today a bit of an 'upclose' look at my storage solutions, what works best for me in my smaller space.
Number one is drawers, the ones that are designed for scrapbookers, I am sure everyone has them, because they are so practical. They are big enough to fit the 30cm x 30cm paper in and shallow enough so nothing gets buried, never to be seen again!

I find my guillotine is the tool I use the most and you might be able to see my  'Stampin up" stamp and scrub beside it, my new favourite as it allows me to clean and dry my stamps as I use them...thanks Rachel!

My next most used storage is little divided craft boxes, they are right in front of me all sorted into similar groups...this is a box of cabochons ready to be made into some lovely rings and earrings
heavy plant pots work really well for pencils, scissors and other tools

I find these book boxes work well for my stamps, inks and embossing powders
Old moccona jars are great for storing beads, buttons, cottons and all sorts of things

I left the best for last, I love this vintage sewing machine desk, it is on wheels which is handy and my sewing machine is always at the ready!
I hope you have enjoyed a look at my craft room, I always love to have a peek into people's craft rooms, so please share links to your blog if you like :)

inspiring vintage treasures mixed in with some unfinished projects

computer and printer...essential tools!

not so much a mood board as lovely things and mementos that make me happy

The lovely Simone from Beach Vintage did a post on my craft room this time last year (follow this link to see ) I lived in a much bigger house then and had the room to spread out.

I am always interested in craft rooms, and how crafty people store all the bits and bobs that tend to collect. I have been inspired this week by Cathy from the Daily Marker who did a little feature a while ago on her craft room and her various storage techniques here is a link to her first post   A craft room to be admired !
Watch my blog for some pics of my new, much smaller :( craft room, I will show you some storage solutions I have come up with to try and fit more in!
